What counts as new?
Lists put new publications and substantial content updates first. A substantial update brings new evidence that changes the explanation or conclusion; it keeps the same article address, shows what changed, and links to the previous revision. Corrections, citation repairs, channel labels and layout changes do not move an article back up. Original publication dates stay visible. Articles published on the same day are ordered by their stable article ID; the earlier sample has no recorded publication date.
